Kurdish Language as a Tool for Identity Preservation
On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the National Institute of Technology organized a panel titled “Kurdish Language as a Tool for Identity Preservation.”
The panel featured several distinguished speakers:
- Professor Dr. Dana Ahmed (University of Sulaimani) – The Resilience of Kurdish Language in the Face of Life’s Challenges
- Professor Dr. Shilan Omar Hussein (University of Sulaimani) – Strategies for Internationalizing the Kurdish Language
- PhD Ismail Mohammed Nuri (Head of the English Department for Special Purposes at the National Institute of Technology) – Preserving the Mother Tongue in the Era of English Dominance
The panel was moderated by Dr. Jilwan Latif Yarahmad, and discussions highlighted the importance of safeguarding the Kurdish language, promoting its global recognition, and strengthening cultural identity through linguistic resilience.
